I recently immigrated from South Africa to UK.

I transferred my domains to Webhosting UK in February and it was supposed to be done on the 1st of March.

I did a big advertising campaign on facebook and then on the 3rd of March I realised emails, site everything is down.

Yes domains were transferred but Migration was not done... I battled from 8am in the morning too fix this. CPanels onSouth Africa side was erased. And no back-ups. &^&*^%

At 7pm I started speaking to a new agent SANTIAGO K. And immediately he assured me he will fix my problems. I could hear that the was confident and understood what the problem was and how to fix it.

All I can say after a day out of her... he was a LIFE SAVER. Went above and beyond the call of duty. SANTIAGO K words cannot express my gratitude. Thank you! Thank you!Thank you!!!!!

They don't take problems seriously. They promise you the world but never live up to it. Problems aren't solved, solutions are delayed and they prefer to point the finger to a supplier instead of taking responsibility.

I've recently changed web hosts. I've never done this before so i wasn't sure what to expect & i had a feeling this wasn't going to be simple. But THANKS to this host, it was easy!! This host is INCREDIBLE! Well, Neil Wilson is. In my entire life, I've never met somebody who is so polite, friendly, helpful & very fast at answering & sorting any problems. It's thanks to Neil Wilson that i wanted to stay with this new host as i knew that any problems i occur will get sorted very quickly.
The host is also incredibly fast! My clients are a lot happier that their websites & emails accounts are loading at such a speed!
The hosts cPanel is also very fast, no waiting about which is great!!
If you're after a new web host then i would highly recommend this host. And if you need any sort of help, then ask to speak to Neil Wilson! He's incredible & i cannot explain how much i appreciated his time.

I was a client of webhosting.uk.com since 2009 and had several VPS contracted with them and this month of June 2017 I hired another VPS and to my surprise I was given the VPS already consuming 80% of the RAM Without me not even using the VPs, I complained, I opened several calls and nothing was solved, so I decided to request the chargeback in paypal and to my surprise they canceled all my active and paid servers that was working with them harming all my clients hosted on my server.

Because I requested the VPS chargeback that was in trouble, they to take revenge canceled all my active VPS

Be careful when hiring them because they have no professional ethics and will harm you if need be.

I set up a VPS server with WHUK several months ago as a trial and I have not been impressed.

UK servers with support in India
I find the wording and branding of the WHUK website quite misleading. The white, red and blue of the logo and website makes for a very strong British feel. All support is based in India however and I have been unable to find any mention of this on the WHUK website. Whilst there is nothing wrong with this in itself, the company need to highlight this fact, rather than hiding it away (it's very odd that all support staff in India have an English first name).

Inconsistent support times and responsiveness
Sometimes tickets are dealt with helpful and quickly, but most of the time there is a need to keep replying to support because they haven't fixed the issue, they forget to check something obvious, or they didn't do what was asked of them. A quick example - I couldn't access WHM because of an excess of backup files. Support advised that they had removed the files and fixed the problem, but I still couldn't log into WHM because my server hadn't been rebooted - this should have been done automatically, and it shouldn't have required me to attempt to log in again to find that support hadn't fully resolved the issue. The problem was that I couldn't log into WHM, they identified the cause of the problem but didn't actually fix the problem. What was more infuriating was the fact that I then had to reply to three ticket responses asking for the server to be rebooted before it actually was. This was infuriating and completely avoidable.

A week later the same thing happened - no access to WHM and an internal server error. This time it related to the cPanel license. I've never experienced this type of problem in twenty years of hosting websites and no explanation was given as to why the cPanel licensing error occurred.

Payment processing is dire
For some unexplained reason they do not offer Direct Debit or PayPal subscriptions as a payment option. I had to set up some other automated payment to ensure that my monthly invoice was settled on time and it failed three times. Every month I received reminder after reminder followed by demand after demand for an invoice I had specifically set up to be paid automatically. Again this was something that I raised with support and was told several times that the issue was fixed - I still kept receiving email reminders however, which was irritating the first time but just got annoying. Even when billing was working and support had turned email notifications off I still kept receiving reminders.

Poor quality admin area
Although I have nothing against overseas support the level of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes within the hosting admin and support area is quite shocking. It really doesn't instil confidence in a hosting company if they don't even run their copy through a spell checker. This is an example response from tech support:

"I have now remove the backups from location /backup/weekly and now there were ample of disk space free on your server " IP#" but now we are receiving a " License File Expired " error while login into WHM of your server, although cPanel license is assign on your server without any issue you can check and verify the same by going through URL: http://verify.cpanel.net/index.cgi?ip=IP# I am now checking this issue with the cPanel and will let you know once its taken care of, meanwhile your patience are appreciated."

Reviews relate to specific online performance, not the company as a whole
One reason why I chose WHUK was because of the 5 star reviews on this website. However, I have now learned that they ask for a review after each online chat session. From what I can tell the vast majority of reviews on this website actually relate to one-off reviews relating to a specific chat session, not what users think of their hosting experience as a whole.

In summary
I can't recommend WHUK because of the completely random and often highly unprofessional nature of the problems I have encountered with my managed VPS server. Tech support often needs prodding and unnecessary follow up messages, the billing platform is terrible and most of the reviews on here only relate to chat sessions (not the actual business). If the main WHUK website had as many spelling and grammatical errors as the admin area and the emails I have received from support I never would have chosen them to host my websites.

Do not go near this company if you need any kind of reliability or support. Our server fails weekly minimum. When investigating why, answer is "you need anti virus". Included in my package is anti virus. We run a small text only database on here and can't filunction without. Again, a full day. 10 unresponded emails. All they keep wanting is more money for upgrade. I have gone a whole business day with no database. Engineers can't work. Can't invoice. Can't really do anything. I keep.paying a whole days wages for nothing because of the ridiculously poor service provided by WHUK. I regret ever using them

Adam Smith of WHUK, however, has taken Customer Service above and beyond that description. In the six years that we have been using WHUK’s services we have encountered issues along the way; for the most part very minor but one or two have prompted a bit of nail biting! Irrespective of the nature of the problem or our lack of understanding of things server-side, Adam has always been there for us – efficient, understanding, calm and patient. Sorry Guys, but how WHUK ever got any stars at all is beyond me. I tried to open a dialogue with their so called 'sales' dept. Well I guess I failed... all I got on the end the phone was an Indian sub-continent fellow whose only word was 'Yes'. ... I'd like to know more abut your WordPress deal" I said to 'sales'. "Yes" he replied, then long silence. "Are you at WHUK sales?" I ask... "Yes" he replies, then long silence treatment. Conversation too lite here I thinks... who are these guys? Sorry, but my short experience at trying to buy a package from them has fallen through the bottom of the barrel. I wouldn't buy from them if they were the last hosting service on planet earth. Nope! Not a good experience, for my money there so called sales are at best incompetent... that's my experience of them. Terrible! Awful! Don't go there is my advice. I'm currently with a well known 'Scottish' based company who are expensive, very lite on features and charge for even sneezing in their presence. But there systems do work. Best stick with the devil I know rather than get a real burning from WHUK.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, my site went down 5 times in the first day of hosting with them, using a dedicated server, for a total of 20 minutes. Moreover, the performance was proven to be better with a vps before migrating to their absolutely terrible excuse for a hosting service. When i provided ample evidence of how poor their service was, and how the site had been inaccessible for such a period in the first day alone, they refused outright to give a refund. The support staff are based not in the uk, and the emails they send are worded by someone who's first language is certainly not english. BEWARE

Absolutely appalling company to deal with. Paying bills is a nightmare, they require you to transfer money to their bank then scan a copy of the transaction and email it EVERY time. This is their normal practice ! and that's if they don't cut off your service in the meanwhile, never mind that its paid for in advance. Our server was down 23 days last quarter, yes 23 Days !! No explanation. Then they said they would credit us for the downtime, but on returning from our summer shutdown yesterday we found the server had been cut off allegedly for non-payment, supposedly 9 days overdue BUT THEY OWED US 23 DAYS service we had already paid for and not received.
Total rubbish company, do yourself a big favour - find another company, any other company but this one.

I love the way my support call was handled. A chap called Harold at Support cleared every aspect of my problem. From a site that was malfunctioning affecting my other sub sites, that kept me up all night. One call to Support, and a Genius called Harold Sorted it out in 5 minutes. Something that could probably never had been fixed. The support team share a great depth of Windows hosting and IIS unrivaled - especially Harold. He should get a raise this month for all his hard work.

I moved to Web Hosting UK for a faster UK based host, and they have certainly delivered that. The chat, telephone support and tickets (the option I use most frequently) is usually excellent, and most importantly they resolve any issues promptly. In almost 3 years of using them I have had next to no down time, they've certainly exceeded expectations in this regard. If they could do anything differently it would be more user guides and the like - I have a VPS option with them which is great, but some of the settings/options on WHM can be a bit daunting, and I tend to leave them be. Ultimately I know that the excellent support team would be on hand to tweak settings if required, but it does sometimes feel like a bit of a high bar of entry. Overall I'm pleased, I'd recommend them.

I'm using the Web Hosting UK services since one year now, and I must admit that so far everything is perfect.
Service deliver a best value for reasonable price, and the support staff was very helpful when I had few issues (most of the time by my mistake).
There is a person called Allen Gibson (If I remember correct). I would personally like to recommend him as a support. Very friendly and professional - fixed my last issue in a minutes after working hours!
You are rarely get such professional service for this money.

A complete waste of money and time.
My business is related to gambling and sports betting and their server was up and down for all the duration of the World Cup 2014. The longest server outage was 36 hours on June 15th and 16th. My server (VPS xLITE ENTERPRISE plan £38 per month) was down also on July 13, the World Cup final day, the most important day of every 4 years.

Their customer support was totally unable to give explanations about all these problems.

Webhosting UK's uptime guarantee is 99.95. Are you kidding me? 99.95 is about 4 hours and 40 minutes per year! They can't guarantee 95% uptime, trust me.

Their billing department refused to give my money back and I'm fighting to have the migration code and move elsewhere.

Don't waste your money with Webhosting UK, thay are ruining my business and my reputation. If you are looking for a reliable hosting service, stay away from them.

The level of cutomer service from these guys is great. If one of there support staff cant resolve your issue, it's escalated. This recently happened to me after a server migration and Pollard S from the Windows Technical Support team was pretty much one of the best online technical support operators I've ever dealt with. Last two years I was a customer of Web Hosting UK. Because their work style, communication and dedicated helpdesk operative's and sales, billing dept personnel act like a friend. Great live chat support! It's quick, efficient and always solved all my websites and server issues. Would recommend to all people who are looking for not expensive and good hosting. Only advice - on the website to make more clear about hosting options/packages (like, what is the difference between Linux and Windows hosting, shared servers etc, which hosting package to choose if I want to host just 1 website or social site with thousands of users etc). Otherwise people with small knowledge about hosting and servers and websites can get lost and confused. But overall - it's great! 5*

Shocking is all that I can say. Out of all the webhosts I have had dealings with, I have never come across support staff that do not listen to your problems at hand and when 'trying' to transfer two co.uk domains have the ones contents trashed. Servers in the USA, call centre in India and NO contact presence in the UK. Says it all.

Previously I wrote very positive review of WHUK.
By the time I discovered that there are some weakness point that they should cover. They have excellent 24/7 customer support and very instant response time. The problem is they cannot prevent the issues from happening again. So you have to monitor your site 24/7 to avoid server side issues. Another weakness point is they have to redesign their package to follow up the world growing market. I hope they solve those issues.

I hereby acknowledge that Web Hosting UK is the best hosting company I have ever known, I have been with web technology since 2001. I have used many hosting services since but once I came across Web Hosting UK I have stopped searching for a new hosting provider. Why would I move if I have the resolution within no time. My journey starts with WHUK in 2008. Since 2008 I had few critical points where the client was on my head. During this period I have found everybody at Web Hosting were very kind to resolve my issue. I would not like to take any name here, but I remember in few occasion member of team stayed extra hours to make sure my problem was resolved. Sometimes I feel like I'm paying far too little or nothing compared to excellent value services I get. I would not recommend any thing to make it better, as it is cool as it is. I do not think I would ever like to look for another hosting service as I am with the best.

A very smooth transfer from my old server to WHUK. However, I do believe for any newcomer to hosting, there should be more tutorials recommended, or suggested. After a few teething problems with the cPanel and spam filters, the help I received from the various agents solved my issues. A one-to-one conversation might be better than the chat line.

I've been a very happy Web Hosting UK customer for a couple of years and one of the best aspects of it is the online "chat" facility which allows us to resolve problems in real time rather than sometimes days if the only option is email. I've just had one such session with a member of the team, who helped me sort out a silly problem but, as with all Web Hosting UK support personnel, was helpful, courteous and offered a speedy resolution. If anyone is reading this with a view to signing up with Web Hosting UK, I say "Go for it!". Excellence is ordinary with Web Hosting UK staff; today I had a chat with a member of the billing team. As usual with their staff I had a real time solution for the issue without any kind of delay. Web Hosting UK remains one of the rare live miracles in this world. This is the first real 24/7 service host I have found since 2005. Previously, I was expecting the other hosts to respond to my queries within few hours. But now; I discovered a host who can solve any issue within seconds.

I started with Web Hosting UK one month ago. I found they offer great helpful teamwork. The staff members are very kind and cooperative. Can you believe that the new domain was working after 2 minutes of registration time! They offer 24/7 support that will solve all your issues in real time. This is the host that understands you and and they do their best to serve you. I am talking after a painful attempt to get on the internet in 2007 with another company. I lost my site during that time due to unclear limitations and useless customer support. But now every thing is different.

I've had a brilliant experience with this hosting company. Hayden was amazing. He was quick and patient to help me with my email problems because we have just transferred hosting companies today. He emailed me straight away with the solution. I had rung in earlier on today and got two different people who I didn't find very helpful and actually lost their patience with me. They ended up emailing the instructions to me but I would of rather had vocal technical support. When I got Hayden I was so grateful and I will ask for him in the future. I guess it depends who you get on the other end at the end of the day. Colin has also been great from the very beginning and helped me in starting it up, he emails me and even calls me to double check if I'm alright. I like this company so far and hope they keep up with the good work. We need help over the phone because computer technology is not my thing! Thanks Hayden!

I had an issue in getting my domain names and web hosting registered through Web Hosting UK. Went through atleast 6 members of staff on chat but none could resolve the issue, as I had paid through telephone banking.

Then along came Adam Smith from the Billing Department to the rescue and saved the day!

A message to his employers, Adam Smith deserves a pay rise, if not a pay rise then at least give him a fat Christmas bonus, as he is a valuable asset to Web Hosting UK.

Today, I thought I'd try again in the hope I'd get somebody different who knew what they were doing, and without any wait time at all, I was chatting to a guy called Shawn. Shawn investigated my problem for me, and sorted it out for me very promptly. Webhosting UK has been an incredible company to work with. We came across them because they were one of three companies recommended by a security expert who does penetration testing. I figured that was a good place to start getting recommendations.

The initial sales work with Ross was just how every company should handle sales: answered all of my questions, sent me all requested information, and when it took us a while to make up our mind about what company to use, he'd just check back in with us, but was never pushy. He's always been great about helping me sort out what products we need.

Then, amazingly, once we decided to go with them, their customer support has been just as excellent. All the time, every time. They have 24/7 chat support, and the patience of a saint. We have multiple servers doing multiple things. Some of which I knew how to set up, and some I had to learn as I went. If something wasn't working, they were always happy to jump on and take a look.

If we have an issue, I just jump on chat to check it out. If it needs something more than a chat can do, they request I submit a ticket. Once submitted, they are always right on the job. Like another posted stated, they are more than happy to sort out the problem, even when the problem is me.

Who'd have thought customer support could be so easy? I've never been left hanging in the breeze with Webhosting UK. I always know my lifeline is just one click away. Thanks guys!

Greg G helped me work through their hosting options and I bombarded him with 101 questions about the service, the software, the configuration and how I could install my own software to save money. It was the honesty and dedication (over an hour) that encouraged me to signup another hosting account with them. I would like to add that when there is a problem with the server or a website, I hop straight on to their chat window and they always do what ever is necessary to help me to get everything working again. There is never any mention to additional costs or charges. I would highly recommend WebHostingUK.

I am having to upgrade the package I already have with Webhosting UK to due restrictions on my current package and after speaking to Alexis from sales I found him extremely patient and helpful. I have always found the prices competitive the help and service excellent and the live chat has been a web life saver at times being able to chat to someone at 3am when you're pulling your hair out is pretty awesome. So yes I recommend them and will continue to use them for the foreseeable future.

One of the most important aspects of hosting a web site or running a small hosting company that resells hosting to clients, is the upstream support from the data centre.

The team at Webhosting UK go above and beyond the call of duty and I have been a happy client with them for the last 5 years after moving to them from another well known hosting company (lets just say that their support is supposed to be fanatical).

Where my old hosting company would leave me in the lurch WHUK have helped me and nurtured my tiny company so that now I have over 1,500 clients and am growing every month.

I would recommend WHUK to anyone looking for web hosting either for single site, vps or dedicated solutions.
