I'm a new customer of Eco Web Hosting – and I'm really impressed by the service they provide (more anon) and the speed with which my site works. I'd been a customer of Clara.Net-Soho since 2001 for my three websites and a couple of email addresses. The two reasons for changing where a 300% hike in Clara's rates and their lack of understanding / support for WordPress. My sites (virtually identical but with different domain suffixes) were created in Dreamweaver over 15 years ago in HTML, which Clara handled very well with 'instant' start-up times. But, time to totally renew my websites, this time using WordPress, which is where I fell out with Clara for although their new 'Bronze' package, which I was forced into, includes a database, it didn't gel with WordPress – and Clara don't have the expertise to say why not. Great shame, for their service had always been excellent. A friend recommended Eco Web Hosting as an alternative to another UK host company which is proving to have slow start-up times for a site we created and, seemingly, little interest in coming clean as to why, even though we've followed their advice on ensuring plugins etc are up-to-date and photos are fully optimised. Anyway, I liked the way Eco say 'these packages are specifically optimised for WordPress', their sensibly competitive pricing and the 'instant' start-up speed of my new site. There was a bit of a mini-issue, which they promptly solved via their 'Support Live Chat' facility. And then... in switching my email accounts to Eco Web Hosting from Clara, I couldn't get the main account to work. I've always kept screenshots of how the account is set up in Windows Live Mail in case I needed to reinstall, but despite trying every variant, it wouldn't work. Back to their 'Support Live Chat' facility for advice and, over a weekend, Ben at Eco sorted it – or rather mentioned one thing which made me realise I hadn't changed the nameservers from Clara to Eco Web Hosting. That done, a couple more tweaks to the email set up and job done. What was impressive with the Eco Web Hosting service is their 'we won't give up on you' attitude – and while it was my fault the emails weren't working, Ben and his colleagues seemed determined to get them sorted come what may. Brilliant stuff – well done and thank you everyone at Eco Web Hosting.
