Zenefits makes completing HR related tasks very simple. It also can incorporate payroll so employees do not need to access 2 separate portals when looking for both payroll and time-off information. I do thin Zenefits has tried a little too hard to make their website look modern. Efficient functionality is always better than pleasing aesthetics.

Whenever I've had questions, Zenefits has always been quick to respond. Everyone I've spoken to has been rather pleasant.! We use the free stuff and have been very impressed. I used to maintain paper employee files, but almost everything I wanted in those paper files is much easier to document in Zenefits. I also really like the health benefits administration and COBRA administration. Once the system is set up, most of the communication demands are done automatically within the system. Our employees also like that they're able to use Zenefits to make elections at open enrollment and review those elections whenever they want to. I'd like to be able to eventually be able to use Zenefits for time and attendance and for payroll because the platform is simple and intuitive and because our employees would really like the integration with their existing Zenefits accounts. The price for us, however, is not competitive enough with our standard Quickbooks system to justify the switch.

If your organization needs help streamlining multiple HR facets and giving your employees more flexibility and control over their options, I would definitely recommend Zenefits. With new options continually being added, I expect that the system will only become more useful as time goes by. The overall platform has so many features and tools that it can occasionally be overwhelming, but this is less of a true "con" and more of a "Wow, I need to do a better job of exploring everything" scenario. Zenefits has been absolutely phenomenal for our company. A few years ago, we were still doing things "the old way" in many senses: utilizing an external health broker that needed constant interaction from us, running COBRA through a separate provider that also needed to be updated frequently, relying on employees to submit time off requests via email and having no real way to track that, printing stacks of paper for onboarding, etc. Once we switched to Zenefits, I started saving a ton of time in day-to-day activities. I stopped worrying about updating multiple extraneous systems to achieve a single task. We eliminated huge amounts of physical onboarding paperwork that employees had to deal with. Even better, all of this was wrapped up in neat, tidy package that included powerful reporting tools and A+ customer service. Everything is very streamlined in the system and our employees enjoy using it, too.

The 'roadmaps' that it takes you through when integrating with other software is excellent. At first glance it may seem gimmicky, but it is actually functional and upbeat. You can begin using Zenefits almost instantly without investing too much time learning the ropes, which is great, It did not have enough functionality to be our complete solution across all clients, and instead we chose to integrate Zenefits into Payclocity.

It's great to be able to have all your documentation in one place, along with access to the actual benefit outline. This makes it so that you pretty much don't need any physical documents. It would be nice to be able to have more ways to send doctors information or keep track of past info. The mobile app is pretty basic.

Worth taking a look at. User friendly for both HR and employees (self-serve) --easy and intuitive to use. Incredibly easy to create customized reports off using almost any data point(s). Smooth automated benefits enrollment process. Responsive customer service and great online help tools. System doesn't go down and is fast enough to keep up with our needs. Zenefits is still 'young' and getting its act together. Used to be free until last year and they are still evolving their pricing structure, so they may end up being too expensive for our small company. Considerable personnel turnover in past 2 years and change in how they manage some functions (for instance, they now outsource benefits management to a 3rd party company instead of managing benefits inhouse and I am not overly impressed with the current benefits mgmt. group). Limited paid time off functionality (system only allows tracking of one paid time off process and my company has 2 discrete time off policies).
