It was a nightmare working with them.

The reference process took place more than 10 month, even when I was already working for my actual company. It seemed that was everything fine, I started normally my new job with my airport ID, but they reappeared after 7 months with their several automatic email, requests and calls.
I've never experienced so much incompetence, defefenetly 1 star because I can't review even worst.

The process was very slow and stressful. Took them 7 months to finish it. 7 months!! I often called Procius and got the wrong information about missing documents, because I spoke to different people each time I called. The same day I received two calls with contradictory information. Documents were filled with wrong dates so they forced me and my friends to fill out the documents all over again. It was a nightmare. Almost lost my job because of this.

Well where do I even start with this procius malarkey?

This started 20/3/2019

Even a 1 star is to much for them.

The incompetency of their staff is absolutely unacceptable. Having a month before I even started my training for them to start getting my work references together is more than enough time to do it. 2 months later I’m still no where, bearing in mind I had finished my training and had now got my wings. 2 weeks later I finally went into quality control. I thought things were starting to look up but I thought to soon! In 2 days I had been pulled out of quality control 4 times because they cannot do there job properly!

This is how bad it got...
“Unfortunately we can’t accept that reference because it was sent on an admin email”

“This reference doesn’t contain the company stamp so we can’t accept that” (bearing in mind I had told them 8-9 times the company had gone into liquidation there it no longer has a stamp)

“We’ll get that done for you today”
(A week later it still wasn’t done and I was in the same situation)

They waited to send the reference request to the company’s 3-4 times before even thinking of what do do next if they didn’t reply. Wasting more and more of the time I wasn’t going to get paid from my new job.

Just as it was going into quality control I had an email saying they were missing the last back page of my HMRC tax statement. Bearing in mind I had sent that to them 2 months prior to them sending me this. I was not happy. The lack of incapability was becoming a joke.
I told them I didn’t have it and I only sent to them what the HMRC had sent to me.
The response was “well when we send this off to Jet2, it may get sent back to us because you can’t agree with the conditions we have asked for”. I could not do anything about this.

Finally on 7/6/2019 I got dispatched to Jet2.

I cannot begin to express how much this downgrade of a company has brought so much emotional distress to my life in the past few months.

A dream job ended up turning into a nightmare!

They don't even deserve 1 star. I have had nothing but issues with this company, they are disgusting and have put my livelihood at risk because of they incompetency.

They have had since November to complete all my references it is now May and I am still yet to start my work. I have lost 2 months (boarding on 3 months) pay because of their terrible service and have lost personal things because of this.
Can someone advise on how to claim for compensation?

Awful customer service skills. Very stressful process due to having to constantly chase them up to insure they are doing their job. Seems they are either understaffed or incompetent. Waited on the phone numerous times for over 30 minutes before someone took my call.

Would not recommend them to any business.

Very unprofessional, caused a lot of stress, not happy at all.

They had all the information they required aprox. 5 weeks before my deadline. They did not get all my checks completed in time. I was then in quality control for 9 days before someone realised there was a mistake. 9 days!!!!! It was soon enough fixed and I got cleared after my deadline, but after spending an absolute fortune calling Procius 4/5 times every day from Spain. It's shocking to think this happens every year and never improves, if the company can not complete their duties in time, they should not take on as much work.

The information given by the team was unclear, each member of staff said something different to the last one.

Example: someone said Gap referees could not scan and send their reference through email as the hardcopy was required, others said they could.

I feel very unsatisfied with the LACK of service received, and the shocking amount of time it took to review a few references.

I would never recommend this company to anyone and I personally hope I never have to deal with Procius again.

One of the most appalling customer service experiences I have EVER encountered - and I'm not alone in thinking this, every single one of my colleagues complained of their incompetence.

Firstly, not once did I ever receive a return phone call (just to point out, this was over a period of months with numerous attempts at contacting them, that I myself made). Whenever I would leave a message, as the person(s) dealing with my checks were not available at that time, the message was either not passed on or ignored completely.

There was no communication amongst themselves resulting in repeated requests via email for documents I had sent days sometimes weeks before.

I even made an attempt to file a formal complaint, sending this to numerous emails, and even this was ignored! I cannot fathom how a company so inept at performing such an important task has managed to remain in business. I truly find it astonishing.

I hope to NEVER have the displeasure of corresponding with this company ever again.

Hands down... THE worst company I've ever had the displeasure of using for my reference checks. Hung up on several times when almost ripping my hair out trying to get to the bottom of why it's taken 8 plus weeks for them to ask for a reference from a previous company. Emails never answered. Supposed to start a new job several weeks ago but Procius didn't even apply for my first reference for over a month after starting to use them. How they are still going and someone hasn't involved business watch dog I'll never know. The amount of stress caused by these is unbelievable.

Absolutely appalling company. £700 paid for training and this company has had 4 months to get references. Now cannot start my job because of their incompetence to chase up one reference. Call daily but they are not interested. Dream job has turned into a nightmare because of them.

I am fortunate enough not to be the one dealing with this terrible incompetent company who hire useless braindead idiots who have not a clue what they are doing.
My poor husband has nearly tore his hair out countless times on the phone to them and they are doing absolutely nothing to help and why big companies are using Procious as referencing I really do not know.
Count this as the 30th 1 star review and I am certain there will be more to follow. Unfortunately it will take thousands before the bigger companies take any notice. God bless you all and your patience, believe me you will need it...

Whatever everyone has mentioned before they are 100% correct. the worst company you can ever deal with. Some one high up the food chain is getting a backhander for giving this company contracts, that is the only plausible reason that this company can still be trading. WHAT A DISGRACE AND SHAME ON THE PERSON THAT EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT THIS BUSINESS.

Absolutely appalling company. Lazy, disinterested, incompetent staff. I got to the end of my training with an airline, and 2 days before my Wings Ceremony the airline withdrew my offer of employment as these idiots still hadn't cleared my reference after weeks and weeks of endless calls and emails to them, most of which were ignored by them. If you do get to speak to somebody, it is like talking to a brick wall. I have wasted a lot of time, effort and most of all, money making the move to do my dream job, all for it to go horribly wrong, thanks to Procius.

I do not understand WHAT is so difficult about requesting references from people? It's not rocket science, yet these morons sure make it seem that way. They seem to forget that this is people's lives and livelihoods that they are dealing with!

The only advice I could give to anybody is please try to work with the airline and ask them to delay your start date if they ask you to attend a course prior to your references coming through, in case something like this happens to you.

The worst, most stressful experience of my life dealing with Procius. Why airlines still use them I will never know! I would give zero stars if I could.

Worst company never ever seen before!!! Totally wasted my time and they don’t do proper work. They every time require unnecessary things and do it extremely complicated. Not other reference company doing work like that. So stupid. They are extremely terrible service. I just wondering how come my employer work with them together. It’s been long time they still hold my case and start calling with bushhit question to my one of referee. Unbelievable service. Soooo piss me up.

Not only have I been screened by this company which was a long degrading process where I did most the chasing. I found when I then worked for the company how terrible their work structure is. The management bully and belittle employees and they will mess you around with paperwork and online forms. And then still make you wait and extra month to get your owed wages just because they can't do their job properly? Overall just selfish management and a company looking for pure profit. Useless.

Hi all I’m currently in the process of seeking financial compensation from procious. This will be for loss of earnings, emaitinal distrss etc. I have submitted a subject access request which means legally they have to release all the information they have, such as recorded phone calls etc. They have a partner company who I will be releasing this information too and under the freedom of information act they will have to release all the companies they have done back ground checks for past and present. I’ve also been in touch with a national tv show who have had one of their producers contact me. I’m taking procious to the cleaners. If anyone would like to share their experiences drop me an email.

Doing my bloody head in, email after email asking for what I have already sent. Phone them up they say they will sort it next day the same bloody email and the day after and so it goes on. They are the most incompetent company going. I only put 1 star because I had to otherwise it would of been minus. Sack the lot of them .

If I could rate this company it would be a 0... this company has basically cost me my job where I have had to leave if they had completed their job then it probably would of turned out different.

It’s been 4 and half months and till day still nothing’s been done.

I’ve never had to deal with a referencing company where I have to be chasing them every single day to do their job. Even after providing them with everything they need.. there’s just no urgency with this company.

Iknow sometime u can’t avoid but if you can stay FARRR..

Procius are completely incapable of understanding and dealing with any format of information whatsoever!!!!!
They treat it as call centre with any chance of anyone asking any new question without ever having any internal conversation to see who as already asked to what??? In a period of over 4 weeks I was receiving emails from 3 different procius workers asking for 3 different documents (all of which had been sent a number of times recorded delivery or scan emails) Procius must owe me around £300 in lost earnings to deal with their ridiculous systems as well as numerous trips to resend information because they had misplaced it.... Not to mention their stupid daily automated email generator asking for documents (Daily) which I had previously sent weeks before... TOTALLY SHOCKING!!!! Procius you claim to be leading the way.... you are a total disgrace and an embarrassment to the MITIE group. Shame shame shame....

Not fit for purpose. It has taken months for a simple background check to be completed. After waiting half an hour to be put through to their incompetent staff, you're fobbed off by them saying they'll send an email to find out what's wrong. Only to not be contacted until you ring them again to go through the same merry-go-round. It's a shame a 0 star review isn't available.

I would give this company ZERO if I could. Literally THE most unprofessional, lazy, incompetent people. Nothing was ever done when it should’ve been, it got to the point where I had to call every time to make sure something had been done. (It never ever had. It was always “I’ll do that now for you.” When it should’ve been done days/weeks before!). So many people are pushed back because they don’t chase up your references which I think is diabolical... People losing out on money, accommodation and time because procious can’t do their job properly. Disgusting. They couldn’t do my criminal record check despite me having paid for it and they told me to do it myself and they’d refund it within 2 weeks if I sent an email with proof of payment attachment which I did straight away. 3 MONTHS later I still haven’t received it. Awful awful company, I hope it gets shut down and saves other people an oasis of stress.

Completely not fit for purpose for a company hiring outwith the UK. I will be based in Europe for a British company but Procius are unable to obtain parts of my reference, or properly advise how I go about doing this (I was told to *try google*) - I’ve been fobbed off, lied too and had emails ignored - I’m out of pocket for obtaining the references they couldn’t as well as the amount of calls I’ve had to make to the UK to try and resolve this. Really taking the shine off of my dream job and I’m trying so hard to keep this seperate from my experience with the company I’ll be working with - but beginning to think it just isn’t worth it.

One of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with. 7 months has gone with majority of my references were fine until I reached quality control they decided not to accept them and a lot of mistakes arrised that should of been dealt months ago... this has caused much stressed, I have now missed a months pay and part of my training!!!

I have only been dealing with this company 4 days and already spent nearly a whole working day on the phone to them. Their system is no good , theyve managed to ignore my emails and not return my calls!
Asking for information that I've already sent.....beginning to feel this is more stressful than the job is worth!

It's the worst company you could have as a background check company. They have hired the most incompetent people in the world! I have not had to deal with such a disgraceful company in my life. They have contacted my previous employer about 10 times without exaggeration, simply that's the number of emails my former employer received asking him about something completely irrelevant to my check, it was unbelievable embarrassing and might have just ruined my relationship with quite a strong connection in my industry. IT'S ABSOLUTELY A JOKE!

oh, and you have to pay for your own criminal check.

I was sent a 7 page form to fill out documenting my mate's employment/study history for a new job. Now obviously this is his whole academic and professional career extends six years, so I'm fuzzy on the exact details. Who can remember every country or internship location their friend was in for work/holiday?

I fill everything out and they repeatedly contact me trying to fill in ridiculous details like where my mate was in a specific month five years ago. This goes back and forth for several days, and then they all of a sudden inform me that the seven page form has to be filled out by hand and not typed. They could've easily said this at the beginning saving me some time, but no. They waited until the most inconvenient time, despite multiple opportunities to make the process easy.

Procius simply doesn't treat you like a person with your own life, time, and schedule. They expect you to be waiting at their beck and call if they have questions, and will make no effort whatsoever to make things easier. If you're a company looking for efficiency regarding background checking potential employees, don't use Procius.

Zero Stars - it has taken FIVE months so far in order to try to get the most basic check done. I have been 'fobbed off' by 2 managers and countless staff, saying it will arrive within 2 days, on numerous occasions. I have now had a full DBS check done elsewhere that took less than a week and so have been attempting to cancel the Procius one and get back the £25 that I paid for nothing. They have been continually saying it will all be sorted out and still nothing. DONT GO NEAR THEM!
