About Spidergap

Spidergap is an online tool for creating and running 360° feedback assessments. Employee-focused feedback reports help workers identify priorities for improvement and take action on personal development. The solution can be used within organizations that want to assess 10 people, or 10,000. Spidergap is typically used by human resources, learning & development staff, leaders in small to medium-sized businesses, and consultants.

Users can create and manage assessments that are easy to understand and simple to use. Questionnaires are completely customizable and can be edited at any time. Spidergap’s online designer lets users drag-and-drop to add questions, add text or edit rating scales. Organizations can even add their own logo and other custom branding.

Spidergap’s feedback reports and personal development plans are easy to understand and focus on the end goal. They highlight employee performance results clearly and provide lists of top strengths and top areas to improve. The comparison table shows how many employees agreed with the desired improvements in relation to each area.

Respondents are asked to summarize the performance of other employees, and are included in the feedback reports. Spidergap reports show other staff members' suggestions on how an employee can build on his or her strengths, or how can they improve on their weakest areas. The development plan can be filled out by either the employee him- or herself, or with their line manager, focusing on three to five chosen areas to improve on. Plans should include a clear list of actions that will help the employee work towards improving overall performance. The report’s appendix gives users a complete breakdown of all feedback including current performance, desired performance and desired improvement.

As a professional coach, I needed a 360 feedback system I could use with my clients. I recently completed a project using Spidergap for this and found it worked perfectly. With online technology you tend to expect a lot of issues, but we didn't have any with Spidergap - it did everything it was supposed to do.

The objective of the 360 was to start the conversation with individuals to help increase their self-awareness. Spidergap's reports made this work really well.

One big benefit to my client was the ability to customise the questions (whereas most other tools don't allow this).

I also found Spidergap's 360 Academy really useful, helping to remind the 360 participants (and me!) that the aim of the feedback review meeting is not actually to review the feedback, it is to make an action plan.

Support was fabulous, and worked extremely well. I will definitely use Spidergap again.

Our key objectives for the 360 were to:
o Keep the process clear and simple
o Automate as much of it as possible
o Provide more comprehensive and useful feedback to colleagues

Initially, our main concerns with using Spidergap were about changing from an established provider, whether the technology was robust enough, the length of the survey and staff participation levels.

However, those concerns were addressed, as:
1. Alex and his team worked tirelessly with us to ensure that the process was clear and easy to follow
2. Our current processes were carefully analysed and some aspects were incorporated in the design
3. A pilot was used to cue employee feedback and test the system
4. The team at Spidergap ensured that additional enhancements were included where applicable
5. Spidergap supported our internal marketing drive and helped to ensure that we had just over 99% staff participation in the process.

The best bits about using Spidergap have been the support and patience from the team and their experience with different scenarios – as well as the enthusiastic response from our employees. We were also delighted by the excellent data output and the richness of the feedback report, which is something that many of our employees have commented on.

To anyone else who is considering using Spidergap, I would say that this is a unique, qualitative product which takes 360 degree feedback to the next level. Alex and Paddy (Spidergap's co-founders) combine experience in the industry with superb analytical skills, enabling you to obtain tangible results.

The Spidergap 360 Degree Feedback tool has been an integral part of our leadership programme this year.

It is highly customisable, so the reports that it generated for us are very specific to our needs. It was easy to design the questionnaire and the reports are easy to read. The customer service I received was personal, fast and effective every time I needed it.

All this over thousands of miles too – we are a company in South Africa and Spidergap is in the UK.
