Awful! Haven’t been able to edit my site for many months. Tried upgrading, not happening. Nothing on their website seems to work, can’t even view templates without error msg. Tried to look at something else, error msg. They won’t respond to my many emails and as for trying to get through to them on the phone! ?? same old msg, we are experiencing high call volumes, please raise a ticket! Yep, done that, still no contact! I’m now looking for another hosting platform, that works, communicates and doesn’t just keep flashing up the £ signs. Yeah right, if you think I’m paying for a service I can’t use, jog on!

We cannot rate Namesco highly enough.

We have always received great service from the team and in particular, our Account Manager, Jordan. Any technical queries are dealt with rapidly and we can contact Jordan directly for assistance and always get a prompt reply.

Any issues we've experienced have been more often down to our own lack of knowledge rather than anything to do with Namesco.

Namesco's prices are also much better than the hosting company we used previously which is one of the reasons that prompted our move to them, along with the fact that Namesco was ahead of the curve in rolling out new software for improved websites. The sites we can build using their latest website builder are so professional and look great, we experience no downtime and the options offered are fantastic. Namesco has obviously listened to its users and incorporated as many widgets and facilities as possible into this new builder - we really can't praise it highly enough.

As far as we're concerned, we've found Namesco to be reliable, ahead of the curve on software upgrades, with highly competitive pricing and a great team to work with.

Wordpress never updates because of inconsistent file permissions which only the tech team can fix. The cacheing system prevents changes from propagating - even when the cache is flushed using the control panel. PHP version is misreported. And FTP access has to be enabled every time I work on the site using a third party FTP client. The tech support is responsive to be fair, but I don't have these issues with other hosting companies.

Every time I called the customer service I got different answers. People were rude and unhelpful. And it's not possible to update your website through FTP if you are in Taiwan, Hong Kong or China, and they wouldn't admit it, kept saying something wrong on my end, until I tried and tested everything. AVOID the service.

AVOID - Namesco will start your hosting at a modest fee then increase the payment to extortionate levels - Their customer care is Awful they will repeatedly close your "support ticket" as soon as possible , without ever resolving your concerns - Their customer service phone line is only effective in creating a huge phone bill charge for you the customer -No webchat available etc AVOID Namesco

Initially cheap to register but then extortion renewal charges.!! you also have to pay to transfer away your domain name. Who does this? they say its an admin charge however everything nowadays is automated, changing an IPS tags and unlocking a .com should attract an admin charge. Not recommended..

Avoid this company at all costs. Access to my email denied twice - on both occasions I made payment. Cut off twice while speaking with them now cant get through. No response by email. Now they are selling SSL as an additional service. My company is losing money because of these guys. I ve had a moonfruit website for about 10 years and initially email was included.

Awful company and I am ashamed I to say I used to work for them! The reason I left was the attitude of the staff to their customers, one or two are okay and try to help. Their atttitude is 'we have them signed up, what they gonna do if they don't like what we say'. The reason I left b cause more often or not I cringed at what I heard on the phone especially from the Domain Admin side and management. Believe me there are far better companies out there

Their customer service is lousy, their products are over-priced and they are not transparent about their pricing.

We were migrated over from UKServers and lost functionality that we were not told about. When we logged it as a technical problem they told us we had to upgrade to get that functionality back.

Will hold your domains hostage with large renewal and transfer fees, they are NOT transparent about pricing.

Has an antiquated control panel making it slow and awkward to manage your domain(s).

Will threaten you with legal action for defamation if you voice your opinion.

When Namesco took over UKServers I have been forcibly off-line more than on-line. At random times throughout the day I will be said to be off-line. The last episode lasted from Sat 24 am to 10am today Sun 25.
Their phone helpline involves a 60 mins wait, although I now give up. It worked fine with UKServers. To be told (by them) that this wretched company is the biggest and best is the last straw. I suffered from the email 'bounce-back' they mention on their status page, which now reports gleefully "no incidents" for the past few days. Rubbish.

Poor web builder. Got this as a simple members support site paid upfront for what was supposed to be a years cost then received monthly invoice. thought i'd try a new provider.
There is no where to delete domain and account. Unacceptable.
No email to confirm there will be subscription costs or additionals.

I own 2 other websites with one.com and all additional costs are confirmed up front, web builder is easy, customer support is almost instant. and they are cheaper too.

SHOCKING!!! after registering a domain i started receiving phone calls and emails from a company in India about web design and seo services which i did not request! i can conclude that names.co.uk had passed my contact details on! FURIOUS!!!

I hav been with Namesco for some years now and they host 5 business sites for me. One site has a fair amount of traffic.

Their support is OK but I have suffered a bundle of frustrations with them. The shared platforms had significant restrictions of file sizes and POST variables etc.

On one nightmare occasion they shut down one of my sites, without notice, and forced me to a VPS service. I have since had to move the platform again and the latest incarnation is slow, sometimes horribly slow.

I need to face up to a dedicated server but it will not be with Namesco.

Always been happy with Namesco until now. Since the last domain I purchased off them yesterday, I have been absolutely inundated with emails and telephone calls from India offering me website services. Seems that now you have to purchase domain privacy at an added cost to stop this happening. Never had this before and it appears that Namesco are passing customer details over to India deliberately.

The other reviews I have just read are correct!

I have been paying a lot of money to names co to host my e mail account.

I got a call this morning saying that I had exceeded my storage and my e mail would be suspended immediately unless I paid the man money.

I suspected phishing / scam call. I logged into my control panel, and can find nothing there about storage, how much I am using, how much I am allowed, no upgrade options.

Then moments later, my e mail account is completely suspended.

Online queries takes more than 24 hours to be answered.

I am on hold now, for more than 46 minutes, just like the other posters, trying to get my business e mail to be working, worrying about my clients who are sending e mails and getting no replies from me! Incredibly bad for my business.

This is a company with incredibly awful support and dreadful practices, and even their online panel is incomprehensible.

Over three years, the e mail consistently doesn't run, because the SMTP main out and mail in ports and passwords just don't work very well with Apple Mail, and so iPads and phones and Mac computers just keep being unable to connect.

The frustration is awful and the lack of any support makes it even worse.

Then our email went off and no warning and I have tried for 2 days now to phone through and I have requested online support and no one answers.
This is the worst IT company I have ever used.

We were obliged to go to Namesco to be able to continue to use our demon email. I was told before we signed up that we would get all the help we needed to set up our new e-mail accounts. THIS IS A LIE!!! It is SO frustrating. I've had 3 calls answered after 40 minutes each where the person was unable to help. I'm on hold at the moment - nearly an hour!!!!. Still not able to set up accounts on my computer. A complete disaster. I would give no stars 1 is too many!

If you value your online business then avoid this company. They are very keen to contact you to upgrade your hosting but then when they inadvertently delete your site and you try to urgently contact them, then you can't get through via online support, emails or especially on the phone. They don't care that because of their ineptitude, they leave your website down for 24-48 hours - loosing you valuable orders & your reputation. They don't answer the phone for half an hour while you are on hold & when they do they simply cut you off. Absolute nightmare company who simply don't care about their paying customers.

I am appalled as well at the after sale service I have received from Names.co.uk To sum up my recent experience my business was brought to it knees, their response was lame, and during the tenure of paid for SMTP service, my service was stopped so that their support team could do what they should have done before shutting me down which was to clear-fully check their records. I suspect someone in Names.co.uk has the job of drumming up more wallet share from existing customers. Maybe in their charter they are allowed to hold customers to ransom until they get more out of them but based on my experience, I will be moving to another provider soonest.

I had my website hosted with Namesco for several years. I was very happy with the competitively priced service compared to the hosting we were using. The customer service was second to none. I called them up and spoke to someone who knew what they were talking about straight away. Opened a support ticket in business hours and got an answer back in an hour. More recently the prices have gone up and the service levels have gone down. Now you spend half an hour on hold to speak to someone who can't help and support tickets take over a day to even get replied to. They offer a lot of cheap prices for taking out hosting with them i.e. 50% off. But then when it comes to renewal times the prices jump up more than that 50%. I eventually moved my site to another host who were both cheaper and much quicker to deal with support issues, even though they were located in the US.
