What is Lumics?
Lumics is a privately held Utah-based corporation founded in 2015 by an MSP to provide a monitoring solution that delivered reliable visibility into the networks they managed. This tool needed to be fast, reliable, and accurate. A user would need to be able to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and make decisions based on reliable, accurate data. Lumics also needed to be a SaaS offering that enabled engineers to engineer what they were hired to engineer…not babysit an antiquated on prem monitoring solution.

Switching from our old monitoring platform was something I kept putting off for two years because migrations are painful and I assumed Lumics would have the same rough edges I'd learned to tolerate. I was wrong on both counts. The cutover was faster than I expected, and the real-time alerting actually fires when it should, not three minutes later with a backlog of stale noise. What I lost in the transition was one niche custom dashboard I'd built over years. What I gained was everything else: cleaner UI, faster load times on device views, and alert thresholds that don't require a PhD to configure.
