Connect Our Kids is a nonprofit organization founded in 2020, based in Falls Church, Virginia. It focuses on supporting child welfare professionals in finding and engaging extended family members and other supportive connections for children in foster care and vulnerable populations. The organization develops free software tools tailored for child welfare professionals, including social workers and volunteers. Key offerings include a People Search tool that aggregates data to locate family members, a Family Connections mapping tool to visualize support networks, and a mobile app for on-the-go access to these resources. Connect Our Kids collaborates with various partners, including state agencies and major technology companies, to enhance family search and engagement practices across 44 states in the U.S. Its mission is to leverage technology to help professionals build lasting, supportive connections for children in foster care, ultimately improving their outcomes and healing trauma.
