Slack is fine. It does what it says on the tin and the dev community has built loads of useful integrations (our CI/CD pipeline posts deploy notifications straight into a channel, which is genuinely handy). But I'll be honest, it can also be a productivity killer if you let it. Constant pings, channels you've been added to without asking, the pressure to respond instantly. I've had to be quite militant with notification settings just to get any deep work done. Good tool, but use with caution.
