As CFO of a 600-person organisation, Zoom is part of my daily executive operations and a meaningful line in our IT budget. Reliability has been appropriate for executive use - dropped calls during board prep are genuinely costly. The platform handles our quarterly all-hands and investor calls without strain. Recording and transcripts give me searchable institutional memory. From the finance lens: per-seat pricing scales linearly with our team, which makes budget forecasting predictable. Add-on costs for AI Companion, Zoom Phone, and Zoom Events compound and require periodic review. Vendor management has been reasonable. Customer support at our enterprise tier has been responsive on billing and licensing questions. The TCO compared to building on something like Microsoft Teams is roughly comparable.
