Two years into this and the admin console still makes me want to close the laptop and take a long walk. The permissions model is genuinely powerful, I'll give Okta that, but configuring it solo is a different story. Everything lives three or four layers deep. I've lost hours hunting for the right toggle, only to find it buried in a sub-menu that has a completely different name from what the documentation calls it. For an enterprise-grade product, the assumption seems to be that you have a dedicated IAM team on hand at all times.
The SSO side works reliably once it's set up, and I appreciate that their app integrations catalogue is extensive. But onboarding a new client means rebuilding half my mental map from scratch because the UI keeps shifting between releases. Support is responsive if you can afford to wait a day or two, which I usually can't. For a solo operator managing multiple client environments, the configuration overhead feels like it was designed for someone else entirely.
