The dashboards stopped me cold the first time I built one. I had pulled in three data sources, wired up some filters, and within about forty minutes had something I could actually hand to a stakeholder without apologizing for how it looked. That moment told me Domo was going to stick around.
Analytics work on a small team is a weird challenge. You don't have a dedicated data engineer or a BI team to lean on, so the tool has to carry a lot of weight. Domo does. The card-based dashboard system lets me build views that are genuinely useful for different audiences. I put together a weekly exec summary that refreshes automatically, and I have never once had to chase down a data discrepancy because the connectors just work. The drill-down capability is where I spend the most time, honestly. Being able to click through from a summary number into the row-level detail without leaving the dashboard is the kind of thing that looks simple but saves me real hours each week. Two years in and I still find reporting features I hadn't touched yet.
If I'm being fair, the pricing is a stretch for a small operation and the learning curve on Beast Mode calculations took me a few stumbling weeks to get comfortable with. Customer support has been responsive when I've needed it, which helps. But those are minor friction points against a platform that genuinely changed how I think about reporting. If your team needs clean, shareable analytics without a data-ops army behind it, Domo is worth the investment.
