Switching platforms for a handful of client accounts is never clean, but BambooHR made the landing considerably softer than I expected. The previous tool my agency relied on had decent reporting but a clunky onboarding flow that clients constantly complained about. Six months in, I can say BambooHR's onboarding module is genuinely well-built. New hire paperwork, e-signatures, task checklists, it all flows logically. My clients pick it up fast, which saves me a lot of hand-holding.
What's better: the employee self-service side is noticeably cleaner, and time-off tracking finally doesn't require a support ticket to explain. What's worse, or at least frustrating: the payroll add-on is US-only, which creates an awkward gap when a client has staff outside the States. That's a real limitation for an agency working across borders. Customer support has been helpful when I've needed them, though response times vary. Overall, a solid step up from what I was using before.
