Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
TeamRetro earns consistently strong praise as a remote-first retrospective tool that keeps meetings focused and on track. Across 23 reviews, the overwhelmingly positive response centers on three core strengths: the intuitive, unobtrusive interface that doesn't distract from discussion, built-in templates that make facilitation easy even for newcomers, and thoughtful design for asynchronous and real-time collaboration without requiring screen-sharing or video integration. Users specifically highlight how the tool handles anonymous entries, grouping, and voting, plus the ability to track action items and generate summaries for future reference.
The main criticisms are minor and scattered. Some users note the prescribed workflow (brainstorming β grouping β voting β discussion) can feel limiting if you want to run a very different format, though most reviewers find it flexible enough with available settings. A few mention occasional UX quirks in the discussion phase or want more template variety and export optionsβsuch as JPEG summaries. Pricing comes up occasionally as a concern for small teams, though most who mention cost see it as reasonable for the functionality offered. One user reported a JIRA integration issue with assignees resetting. Language localization was also requested.
Only four reviews dropped below 5 stars (all were 4 stars), and even those were fundamentally positive. For remote and distributed teams running retrospectives or brainstorms, TeamRetro consistently delivers on its core promise of being low-friction and effective.

βOur agile teams love the tool What do you likeβ¦β
Our agile teams love the tool What do you like best? That the cards are hidden if you want to. Our team members like it not to be influenced by reading the cards of others. The trainings TeamRetro others are great. What do you dislike? Sometimes the UX is not intuitive. Especially in the discussion phase. What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you? Remote Retrospectives. TeamHealth Checks. Ans sometimes even brainstorming.

βBest retrospective tool especially for remote teams I have nowβ¦β
Best retrospective tool especially for remote teams I have now been using TeamRetro for three years and have recommended it to multiple colleagues and clients. Comparing to other retrospective tools I've used, TeamRetro has many advantages. TeamRetro is designed with a remote-first mindset i.e. it is built with asynchronous communication in mind. However it perfectly supports real-time communication and is very enjoyable to use as it shows the movements, additions, and interactions in real time. I love that TeamRetro does not unnecessarily integrate with video conferencing tools and that there is no need to screen share in order to use this tool. This is a remote-first design that most other tools have completely overlooked and therefore either integrate with video tools or require someone to share their screen in order for collaboration to take place. The design of the workflow and settings are intuitive and simple.

βAgile Retro for Remote Teams What do you like best?β¦β
Agile Retro for Remote Teams What do you like best? Easy to use templates that our remote team can just click on and start on our retrospectives. The UX and UI of TeamRetro makes remote teams able to focus on the discussion rather than the systems or processes. What do you dislike? Looking forward to more templates to be released so that we can use more and more to run even more fun and effective retrospectives. We believe this is coming before the end of the year! Recommendations to others considering the product: I would recommend anyone who needs to find a way to connect and conduct retrospectives with their remote teams like we do (we have 8 people scattered across the world) to give this platform a go. It's so easy to use that it never distracts us from the discussion we have to have, so it keeps our retrospectives on time and effective. The reporting tool and integration with our Jira project management schedule is also great so that everything is always in one place.

βOnline retrospective without the hassle Pros: It's easy to useβ¦β
Online retrospective without the hassle Pros: It's easy to use and very intuitive for everyone, no matter their previous experience. It just encourages collaboration between people with every feature - from the customizable timer, grouping, voting, and comments. Built-in templates allow me to easily introduce new people to the challenge of facilitation and new retrospective techniques. Cons: I'd love to see some new options to share and download a summary of finished retrospective, like a jpeg with an overview of the whole brainstorming board Overall: Facilitating a meaningful agile retrospective is challenging as it is, even more, when your teammates are working remotely. TeamRetro allows me to run an engaging meeting for everyone whether they are remote or co-located, focusing on the actions and conversations instead of technical difficulties.

Excellent : simple & very efficient Pros: Accessible from any device, awesome! Templates are just the perfect mix, diverse but not too many to send you into choice overload. Extra clarity in the UIUX. Trial run with the bot, a few minutes and it's all clear, no need to dive into complex how-to. Cons: Well, nothing, just add one-two templates that are specifically for planning & maybe planning poker? Integration to the task board in Notion? It's not cons, it's just a couple suggestions I'd like a lot. Overall: SO WORTH IT for remote teams and I'd probably keep using it even with in person teams, because the fluidity and the fact that it's digitized to be referred to later, plus the automated reminders...

Awesome Retro Facilitator There is no other product on the market that delivers this number of features at this level of quality at this price. It is extremely valuable for a remote teams, but we also found value using it for in person retros for its organization, anonymous capabilities, and reporting. Pros: Guided retro experience Anonymous users, topics, and voting Agile on the fly retro configuration Great reporting Also includes a nifty survey module Cons: UI can be a bit quirky, but once you get it setup the way you want it, or just use it a couple times it is fluid.

Highly Recommended Pros: It is intuitive, easy to use and helps the team tremendously to perform a constructive remote retrospective. Also the health check fully meets our requirements. Cons: So far no cons, if any the pricing. There are cheaper options available but with much less functionality and less easy to use. Overall: Because of the current situation due to corona we started doing retrospectives remote. As we didn't do that before it was quite challenging for me as scrum master to get the people encouraged. I used teamretro for the first time and I really like this tool.
