What is Spidergap?
Spidergap is an online tool for creating and running 360° feedback assessments. Employee-focused feedback reports help workers identify priorities for improvement and take action on personal development. The solution can be used within organizations that want to assess 10 people, or 10,000. Spidergap is typically used by human resources, learning & development staff, leaders in small to medium-sized businesses, and consultants. Users can create and manage assessments that are easy to understand and simple to use. Questionnaires are completely customizable and can be edited at any time. Spidergap’s online designer lets users drag-and-drop to add questions, add text or edit rating scales. Organizations can even add their own logo and other custom branding. Spidergap’s feedback reports and personal development plans are easy to understand and focus on the end goal. They highlight employee performance results clearly and provide lists of top strengths and top areas to improve. The comparison table shows how many employees agreed with the desired improvements in relation to each area. Respondents are asked to summarize the performance of other employees, and are included in the feedback reports. Spidergap reports show other staff members' suggestions on how an employee can build on his or her strengths, or how can they improve on their weakest areas. The development plan can be filled out by either the employee him- or herself, or with their line manager, focusing on three to five chosen areas to improve on. Plans should include a clear list of actions that will help the employee work towards improving overall performance. The report’s appendix gives users a complete breakdown of all feedback including current performance, desired performance and desired improvement.

We implemented Spidergap about a year ago to replace a cumbersome manual 360 process that was eating up enormous amounts of HR time. Overall, the transition has been very positive. The questionnaire designer is genuinely intuitive — I was able to build a customized assessment with our own competency framework within a couple of hours, and the drag-and-drop interface means I don't need to involve IT every time we want to tweak something. That alone has been a significant time saver.
The feedback reports are where Spidergap really shines. Employees actually read them, which wasn't always the case with our previous system. The layout is clean, the language is accessible, and the separation of top strengths versus top areas to improve gives people a clear starting point. The personal development plan feature encourages employees to move from insight to action, and several line managers have told me that their one-on-ones have become more structured and productive as a result.
A few areas I'd like to see improved: the reporting dashboard for administrators could offer more aggregated analytics across cohorts — right now I have to export data and do a fair amount of manual work in spreadsheets to spot organisation-wide trends. The email reminder system is functional but a little rigid; more flexibility in scheduling automated nudges would help with completion rates. Branding customization is good but not exceptional — logo upload works well, but deeper theme control would be appreciated.
Customer support has been responsive and genuinely helpful on the occasions I've needed it, which I appreciate. Pricing feels fair for the value delivered. I'd recommend Spidergap to any L&D professional looking for a straightforward, employee-friendly 360 tool, particularly if you're moving away from paper-based or overly complex enterprise systems.
