Review Summary
Generated using AI from real user reviews
SharperLending's permission system stands out for being genuinely intuitive rather than rigid or ticket-dependent. The reviewer, a non-technical admin at a small shop, configured access controls for a team of six in a single afternoon without formal IT training. The admin panel offers granular user controls, role assignments, and per-module access tiers that actually make sense in practiceβa contrast to how most mortgage software treats permissions work.
A major strength is consistency across products: Appraisal Firewall and XpertOnline inherit the same permission logic, eliminating the need to maintain separate settings. This unified approach prevented confusion when onboarding new processors, ensuring they landed in correct workflows with appropriate access from day one. For small teams without a dedicated admin to catch mistakes, this kind of built-in alignment directly prevents costly errors like accidental credit pulls or misfiled orders.
The review is a single five-star assessment with no counterbalancing criticism. While it makes a genuine case that configuration experience matters for smaller operations, a single user's perspective provides limited insight into how SharperLending performs for larger teams, different use cases, or potential downsides. This summary reflects only that one positive account.

βSetting up permissions for a small shop is usually anβ¦β
Setting up permissions for a small shop is usually an afterthought in mortgage software. Either the tools are too rigid or you end up drowning in a ticketing queue just to change who can see what. SharperLending flipped that for me. The admin panel inside EPN is genuinely intuitive, and I say that as someone who had zero formal IT training when I took this role two years ago. Granular user controls, role assignments, access tiers per product module, all of it laid out in a way that actually makes sense. I configured our team of six solo in an afternoon.
Appraisal Firewall and XpertOnline both inherit the same permission logic, so there is no scrambling to keep settings consistent across products. That alone saved a lot of confusion when I onboarded two new processors last spring. They were in the right workflows, with the right access, from day one. No accidental credit pulls, no misfiled orders. Small teams live and die by this kind of thing because there is no dedicated admin to clean up mistakes.
If you are evaluating SharperLending and your team is small like mine, the configuration experience is worth your attention specifically. Most platforms treat admin tools as an afterthought. This one does not. Customer support has also been responsive when I had a question about TVP permissions early on, though honestly I have not needed them much because the documentation is solid. Value for the price point is strong. My only mild note is that the UI for managing vendor panels inside Appraisal Firewall could use a visual refresh. Functional, yes. Pretty, not quite. But that is a cosmetic complaint on an otherwise excellent platform.
