What do you like best? IDU is a no frills, no fuss, straight system that we use in our company for budgeting and reporting. Its easily understood by both the accountants and the business. What do you dislike? IDU works well for our budgeting and reporting requirements. Recommendations to others considering the product IDU is an easy to use IT system. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Multi year budgeting and Monthly reporting and Board Reporting Quarterly.

“What do you like best? The flexibility of the system…”
What do you like best? The flexibility of the system and the authority levels for users. I also like the analytics function. What do you dislike? I have no issues really. I would like there to be one login for the Budgeting and Reporting Module but this is cosmetic. Recommendations to others considering the product I would recommend it because our entity is very 'fussy' and this system is also working for non-financial employees with ease. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? We were looking for a real-time system that could tell us how much budget is available before we commit any funds and this system does it. Excel spreadsheets is not no necessary during budget presentations.

“What do you like best? All companies have different needs…”
What do you like best? All companies have different needs and requirements when it comes to budgeting. IDU is the complete budgeting system which no company can do without. Budgeting use to be a nightmare especially consolidating the all divisions and branches. What do you dislike? There is not much to dislike however if we could make a suggestion to improve it would have been to increase the "excel functionality", however this is not a big issue as you are able to export into excel if needed. What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized? Consolidation of budgets is the biggest benefit. Decreased the budget process tremendously and should see an even bigger improvement as users get more comfortable with the system. “Good is the enemy of great. And that is one of the key reasons why we have so little that becomes great." IDU assisted Hitachi to make that difference.

Pros: Automated management reporting using the analytics function on Excel PowerPivot. Cons: Experienced difficulty with entering historic information and opening balances. Recommendations to other buyers: The software is affordable and very adaptable and can run with almost any accounting system which makes it possible to migrate to new platforms without the hassle of recreating new budget & reporting systems again.
