Complex Interests

Complex Interests is software used in the stewardship of complex family wealth. Many families with significant private wealth maintain complex legal and financial relationships on account of: -> direct investments in operating companies and real estate entities -> elaborate tax and estate planning -> participation in a myriad of alternative investment vehicles -> considerable use of debt as a borrow and/or lender -> maintenance of meaningful collections of valuable personal property (e.g., artwork, antiques, cars), and -> recurrent philanthropic work (often through a private foundation created by the family). This complexity creates OPERATIONAL RISK to the family through: a) impaired decision making on account of the difficulty in appreciating the impact of any one decision on the complex web of relationships, b) missed deadlines associated with debt, options, insurance, trusts, and other contracts, and c) misplaced or forgotten documents, assets, or commitments that are apt to disappear when estates grow.
