Long time customer, getting tired. I have been on beehiiv for over two years and watched it go from a scrappy product I genuinely loved to something that feels like its chasing every shiny feature instead of fixing what was already there. Deliverability has degraded over the last six months for me, my open rates have dropped about 11 points with no change in content or sending pattern. Multiple support tickets have gone unanswered for 10+ days. The new editor refresh introduced bugs that are still not fixed nearly a quarter later. Pricing keeps climbing. I am not someone who writes negative reviews lightly but the trajectory is bad enough that I felt I should say something. If you are new and considering, watch where things go before committing for the long haul.

Boost is genuinely interesting as a growth lever once you have a list big enough to participate. Things I'd flag: the recommendations network needs more verticals, and the mobile composer is still rough if you're trying to write on the go. Wanted to like this. Came over from ConvertKit because of all the hype and the price point and have regretted it. The migration tool lost segment metadata for about 4000 of my subscribers and I had to manually rebuild lists. The editor crashes intermittently in Chrome on Mac and I have had to redo posts twice now. When I raised these issues support replied with generic copy paste responses and it took two weeks to get someone who actually engaged with the specifics. The platform has potential and I can see why people who have not hit edge cases love it. But for anyone with a more complex setup migrating in, be prepared. I will be moving back to ConvertKit at the end of my billing cycle. Two stars is generous given my experience.

This is my first job out of uni and I was given the newsletter to manage with basically no handover. beehiiv has made what could have been a really stressful onboarding feel manageable. The templates are great, the help docs answered most of my questions before I had to ask anyone, and the AI subject line tool has actually meaningfully improved our open rates (up about 6 percent in the two months I have been using it). I had one billing issue that took a couple of days to sort which is the only reason I did not give 5 stars on customer service. Overall though I feel like I lucked out inheriting this tool. Will be advocating for us to stay on it as we grow.

My experience with beehiiv has been mixed. We came in with high expectations after seeing it recommended in several media-industry newsletters and there are things we genuinely appreciate, particularly the audience segmentation and the speed of the editor. However at our scale (around 60k subscribers across two flagship publications) we have run into limitations that the marketing copy does not really mention. Custom workflows for our editorial team required workarounds. Reporting at the publication level is available but a bit shallow if you want to compare cohort performance across launches. Customer service has been responsive without being especially insightful. We are staying for now but actively evaluating alternatives. If you are a one-person operation it is probably perfect. For a small editorial team with multiple titles, it is adequate.

been on beehiiv almost a year now for my film recommendation newsletter. its mostly fine, sometimes great. the website that comes with your newsletter looks really pro out of the box which i didnt expect. the editor occasionally drops formatting on long posts which is annoying when youve spent an hour writing something and have to redo bullet point indents. value for money is okay i guess, scaler tier feels a bit expensive when you compare to the free tier features. their support people are friendly when you do reach them. would i recommend it? yeah probably, but not as enthusiastically as the people in the comments under their twitter ads make it sound. its software, it does the thing, it has bugs sometimes.

I run a daily news roundup for the construction industry and beehiiv has been my home for it since launch about 18 months ago. From a workflow standpoint nothing else I tried even came close, the editor is genuinely the fastest way I have found to put together a daily send. Where I would be more measured is on the feature surface area itself. There is a lot, and not all of it is at the same level of polish. The polls feature for example feels like a v1 still. The referral program has driven solid growth though, around 15 percent of new subs come through that channel. Pricing is reasonable for where I am, will see how I feel as I scale up. Net positive, recommend it for daily/high-frequency operators specifically.

beehiiv is a solid choice for company newsletters. We use it for our weekly product update at a 200-person SaaS company and it does pretty much everything we need. The drag and drop editor is faster than the tool we were on before (Mailchimp) and the segmentation by user property has been useful for tailoring content to free trial vs paid customers. Couple of gripes. Their support has been a bit slow on a deliverability question we asked, took about four days to get a real answer. Also wish there was better Notion integration for pulling in content. Aside from that, no complaints really. The price is fair and the feature pace seems quick. Easy to recommend if your team is small and you do not need enterprise level controls.

Came over from Substack in March after the recommendations algorithm there started feeling more like a content moderation system than a growth tool. beehiiv has been a noticeable upgrade on the writer side. The website builder is way better, custom domains were painless to set up, and the segmentation lets me actually run different content tracks for paid vs free without cobbling things together. Where I would push back: the paid tier I am on feels a touch expensive once you stack the must-have addons. They keep adding features which is great but some of them feel half cooked at launch. Overall I am happier here. My open rates went up about 9 points after migrating which I attribute partly to better deliverability. Would recommend to anyone fed up with their current platform.

We migrated our entire B2B newsletter portfolio (four publications, combined list of 84k) onto beehiiv at the start of Q2 and it has been a smooth transition. The team workspaces feature handles our editorial workflow well, and the analytics dashboard finally gives me retention metrics I can pull into board reports without exporting to a separate BI tool. Honest feedback: the API documentation could be more thorough in places, and we did hit a few edge cases around custom domain SSL renewal that took a bit of back and forth to resolve. But the response from their support team was excellent throughout. Pricing scales reasonably as our lists grow. I would happily recommend it to other heads of marketing managing portfolio newsletters at scale.
