The support is very slow.

I am a web designer and I speak to lots of hosting companies.

When you call 1&1, Fasthosts, Namesco, EUKHosts, then you get through to their support team and they can help straightaway with complex issues. With UK2, you always speak to their first line team on the phone and they're very nice, but the issue always has to be dealt with by the second line support team. This then takes ages for them to look into. I get the feeling they are heavily understaffed.

It's not all bad. When everything is working then (like all hosting companies) it's great, Luckily there aren't issues too often.

They used to have a premium telephone number for the support line but they've scrapped that, so that's a big positive. They've updated their control panel to Chi and that's really nice.

I just wish they'd invest in their support department as that's what makes a fantastic hosting company. They've got the potential to be an amazing company, but they're let down by slow support.

We had VPS hired with UK2. In the beginning, they seemed OK. But then we started to have problems with them and they were unable to solve them.
No phone support. They do have a telephone, but they always tell you to raise a ticket. If you send an email to the support account, they also tell you to raise a ticket. And they take more than 24 hours on answering them.
We had the system down for more than 2 days, and they didn't seem to care despite of the problem being their fault.
I would not recommend UK2 at all.

Back in the early days UK2 was as good as anyone. But as the market has matured so has UK2. The quality of the service and features has improved vastly to the point that UK2 Sales and Support departments have worked in tandem to sort out our Site expiring while I was in hospital last week. Over the weekend we have resolved the expired card issue, changed to a more suitable plan and the site is now back up and running fully restored to the very last Blog posting. Thank you UK2. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I cant applaud enough the help and courtesy accorded to me recently by Kevin Ababio in the UK2 sales team who supported me through the transition whilst switching from the worst host providers ever - Purple Paw to UK2.net.
In addition, I had cause to speak to other members of the UK2 telephone support team who guided me through some of the process of setting up some email accounts [ not my bag ] calmly and professionally to my complete satisfaction. Thank you UK2 :)

perhaps the worst customer support ever and when you try to move your domains, ever barrier possible is put in place to stop the process.
So much so i am going to have to go to the expense of paying for mew domains and losing my old ones

Wont release domain so i can move hosts
If you buy a domain name and wish to move it to your current host you will find it locked, they refuse to unlock it so you can move it, and fail to reply to emails concerning cancellation. They will point you to nominet who will charge you £12 to force UK2 to release the domain.
BUYERS BEWARE!

The problem for users of UK2 is that its UI confuses "Account Name" with "User Name" with "Domain Name" with "Email Address" compounded by the obvious facts of having made your purchases before 25 April 2014 and after 25 April 2014 when all of the preceding became separate and distinct with none visible between each date and old and new systems.

Mr Kevin Ababio dealt with the problem efficiently and very quickly (in 5 minutes) and should be congratulated, because it had taken me 24 hours and far too much bother and irrelevant chatter to get to this point. His simple and straightforward attitude has neutralized a pressing problem. Your staff should learn from his positive and helpful attitude.

Avoid if you ever want to run anything reliably on their cloud.
- If they decide your VM is in any way in violation of their always changing policies they shut you down without prior notice
- The VM management console is often broke

I have been using UK2 for over 12 years and have never had any cause for complaint I recently had a problem with a mail server response time. The support team sorted it out in no time and on there advice I contacted the sales team to change a few things. Their response was excellent and the phone call took less than 10 minutes. UK2 are an example to others.

I have had 11 dedicated servers with UK2 for over four years, I estimate I have spent £34000 with them in this time.

On the 25th July 2013, without any notice they blocked a custom port that my application uses. They have refused to re-open it and I have now cancelled my business with them.

If they treat an established long term customer in this manner, I can't imagine how they treat smaller clients.

I have always found UK2 to have a (reasonably) straightforward web interface, but especially good is their very prompt and helpful support service via email. I've been a customer for 10 years or so and have no plans to change.

I run a small web design studio and I have been using UK2 for email and web hosting since 2000. They consistently have provided the best value, best package features and the best service in web hosting in the UK. I host several websites both for my clients and myself and I have recommended them to other clients who now use UK2 for their own hosting. Their technical support services are knowledgeable and prompt.

I've rented various unmanaged UK2 dedicated servers over the years. My income is reliant on UK2 keeping their side of things up and running.

With all large businesses there are occasional problems and I've only ever had one billing and one software issue, both of which were resolved quickly and efficiently.

I can't comment on the shared hosting side, but for dedicated servers I absolutely recommend UK2.

We've hosted with UK2 for more than 13 years now, and have seen major changes in the company since we started. Sure, there have been troubles on the road to where they are now. What hosting company hasn't had problems?
I personally have used both the 'ticket' support, and the MoreUK2 support on a number of occasions. With the 'ticket' support, yes, one or two have had tardy responses, but all have been answered to my satisfaction, and in a perfectly timeous manner (hindsight is wonderful!)
The MoreUK2 support system is outstanding.
We've got no plans to change (why would we?)
If you want a progressive hosting company, and aren't afraid to tinker about and learn if you need to, then UK2 are great. Keep it up guys!

I've used uk2 for different purposes for ten years, first as a dial-up beginner, later for business email that because of its nature needs to be highly reliable, and later still for web site use. Throughout, I have in particular found their emailed advice and assistance with the occasional rare problem to be rapid, clear and friendly.

I have been with UK2 for over 3 years now with their Reseller Plus account. In the early days as a new customer, things were great. However after the first year, things started to go downhill. I experienced regular downtime, and '24/7 support' started turning into 5 days a week support. Regularly never receiving replies on a weekend. Don't get me wrong, the free SSL and dedi IP's are great, but not at the expense of good uptime and reliability, and quality UK based support. The support has been OK. Some support agents shine through more than others, but clearly with UK2, they're cheap and and you get what you pay for. I shall be shortly moving my business elsewhere to another company. It will cost more, but it will be a small price to pay for better uptime, quicker support, and a more professional company who actually care about retaining your business and valuing you as a customer. Something, which UK2 need to learn to do. My advice, if you can afford a little bit more than UK2, go with a more reliable company from the start. While they're cheap, you may soon start to regret going with them.

UK2 is a fantastic company but it does not support new comers to web hosting, and presumes you have experience in the field. Make no mistake the support will not help outside the remit they are paid for because they are not qualified & experienced in such things. If you are experienced and understand about how a hosting company works then this is the perfect place for you.

I used to be very impressed with UK2. But over the past year or so it's been going steadily downhill. There are too many different plans. Most of the problems are technical and relate to two things; the use of cpanel which is truly awful (though used by many ISPs) and their support which is expensive (50p/min). Today, I had to upgrade to get more bandwidth. That meant moving two sites that were already hosted with them. I had problems with something similar before, so I called support. Only to spend 10 minutes without getting anything working and then told I was 'out of time'. Tried & tried but no joy so called again. Then a passing comment lead to a solution and we came to the conclusion that their instructions have a significant omission. They didn't even realise this (and frankly don't seem to care in the least, possibly because it's 50p/min?). Awful, try anyone else first, because changing ISPs is a nightmare.

I'm a happy UK2-customer and I have been one since May, 2011. While some hosts are lousy, their support is literally non-existant and their prices are high - UK2 is different. Ever since I came to UK2 I have had awesome support, low prices and feel that there are people backing you up if you were to face a problem. The network is good and provides good latency & ping around in Europe. I find their prices to be near the best in the UK and when they have such a low price, they do not leave support & service behind. The company is, literally outstanding both in support, connectivity and professionalism.

Only just been migrated to UK2 but the service so far has been speedy and effective and any problems I had were fixed in less than 24 hours, preventing a marketing campaign catastrophe. As a total novice to web hosting etc, Kevin has educated me a little so that I understand this stuff a bit better now. Would recommend UK2.net to any company, large or small.

I have just experienced extremely poor customer service and I would be suprised it came from UK based staff, as I had difficulty in getting them to understand a quite straight forward question about their hosting packages. In the end I have given up and will take my business elswhere. I also have existing services with them which will also be moved away as them come up for renewal.

I've been with UK2 or a number of years now. Supreme Support 100% overpriced in my considerable experience as I've always found it more hair pulling than problem solving.

Account manager Kevin Ababio is without doubt the jewel in the UK2 crown. Had it not been for the excellent customer service from Kevin I'd have probably migrated on several occasions. Top guy - quality advice always and more than helpful on every occasion.

UK2 is the best host I've been with, good support times, support knows what's wrong pretty fast and they fix the issue pretty fast too. I'm a dedicated server customer and I also have a Business webhosting-package from UK2 aswell, I've had extremely good uptime on both, the dedicated server has been running for 81 days without a restart and hasn't lost connectivity to the internet once, the website is also very good. All in all, a good company where you get what you pay for. Recommended!

I registered with UK2 approximately 22 hours ago, I am still unable to view my site. I contacted tech support last night and received a reply by 8am this morning. There was a DNS mis-configuration, which had been corrected. The reply stated I should be able to access my site within the next 6-24 hours. I have replied asking for an alternative way of logging in and am awaiting a reply. I did not find the site setup particularly intuitive. I have used other hosts who have a much more user friendly feel. I would not be able to recommend UK2 to a 'newbie'. In fairness to UK2, I shall update this post when the teething issues are resolved.

Very Bad Billing Team Leader. I am Gobsmacked that Uk2.net employ someone who was very tardy to respond and did not grasp the issue nor did she ant to. I bought a Domain and did not receive the usual confirmation email. I contacted Online Tech Support and was told that no such domain was associated with my account. So I went through the Domain Purchase again. Needless to say I was billed twice and the Billing Team Leader refuses to resolve the issue and round the duplicate payment. Nor will they answer my repeated questions like how quickly should I have had the confirmation email in the first instance. Why was a duplicate purchase of the same Domain possible and why was it not picked up. They continually refuse to escalate the issue. Why. I have used Uk2.net for many years and purchased many many Domains but lately I have been getting many emails regarding renewals over and over again, now this. I feel they have a problem in their billing and sure they have a very very poor Team Leader in the Billing Dept

Snail like customer service. I have a reseller account and have been struggling to access my email, access sites by ftp and even access my cpanels for the past few days but keep getting timeouts. The customer service responses are slower than the server.

Overall the product is OK and it usually does what it says it will do. However, this changes if you have a problem. We have a dedicated server and also pay £70.00 a month for "Supreme" Support. Our server went down for over 8 hours and NOTHING was done to help. Any request for information was stonewalled and messages were just unanswered. In the meantime we had to field calls from anxious, worried and angry clients wanting to know where the emailand websites that their businesses depend on were.

We started with a dedicated server in 2007 because we wanted to spread our services among more providers, including one from the USA, another one in the UK and some dedicated housings in Italy. Today we are using UK2 because the technical support is amazing and *really* available 24 hours a day and UK is an excellent place for fast bandwidth and easy work even if you are localized elsewhere in Europe as we are.

This was the first time I set up a website and with the help of the tech support team at UK2 it was relatively easy. The prices are good and I always get good response times on issues. Unfortunately I didn't listen to UK2's advice and update my themes on wordpress and had a problem with hacking. I am rebuilding my site and again UK2 have been happy to help.

Avoid this company, poor service - servers always requiring disk checks and fast routing speeds, but very slow processing speeds by their servers. Support is USA based and very poor. Currently in dispute with this company over 7.5 months of unused contract after I had to migrate to a new company as they suspended my website because it was successful. A Team Leader said "its almost two years anyway so why are you asking for a refund of the unused contract" (7.5 months of a 2 year contract - hardly almost the entire contract).

This company is nothing short of a joke. They do not process orders placed at a weekend, Furthermore the chat support is inept. I would avoid this host at all costs to be honest.
